It is recommended that you inspect your roof every spring and fall for any weather-related damage. A damaged roof can lead to serious issues if not addressed quickly. What exactly should you be looking for when you inspect your roof? Inspect your roof for: Signs of Moisture Check for signs of moisture, mold, or rot, especially on the lowest parts of your roof where water may pool. Check the flashing on your roof The most common place for water to enter your home is at the chimney flashing. A damaged or deteriorated flashing can allow water into the attic and cause mold and other water damage. If you inspect your attic and notice any sagging spots, black areas that look like mold, or see sunlight shining through the roof, it’s time to call the roofing experts at Blackstone Exteriors. It only takes 24 hours for mold to develop in the right circumstances, putting you and your family at risk of becoming ill.
